Activities
The role of Activities Coordinator enables involvement in the wellbeing of a Service User from the time of their arrival in the Home. This is done by initially promoting a welcoming and caring atmosphere and then spending time finding out about the new resident by taking a personal interest in them as individuals, exploring their background and history and tailoring their interests and hobbies into the activity timetable where possible.
Extensive research is done to ensure that the activities provided stimulate, promote confidence and provide the extras needed for daily fulfilment, wellbeing and social needs.
Doddington Lodge’s display boards provide a platform for what’s on. These will detail the weekly list of activities, posters of forthcoming events, Birthday greetings, and cherished memories of photographs of past activities. The activities list is also delivered to each Service User through a quarterly newsletter, on the website and staff members will always ensure that everyone has an opportunity to join in, and families are always welcome..
